Rob is an associate at Colligan Law LLP—a boutique law firm providing legal services to entrepreneurs and cutting-edge businesses. Rob’s practice area relates primarily to natural resources, environmental and corporate law. Originally from Verona, New York (a town 30 minutes east of Syracuse, New York), Rob moved to Buffalo in 2009 to study history at the University at Buffalo. At UB, he worked in the admissions office, served as a resident advisor and was a member of the Undergraduate Academies. While studying at UB, Rob fell in love with the food, music, festivals and culture in Buffalo and decided to stay for law school. While in law school, Rob studied business law, non-profits, natural resources, climate change, trusts and land use planning. Rob also worked as an attorney under a practice order in both the Environmental Law & Policy Clinic and the SUNY Buffalo Animal Law Pro Bono Clinic. Working in the Animal Law Pro Bono Clinic allowed him to work on regional projects with municipalities to amend animal laws. He also represented clients in city and town courts and helped form LLCs and 501(c)(3) organizations for clients to host fundraisers and adoption events. In the Environmental Law & Policy Clinic, he worked as part of a binational task force to bring international recognition to the Niagara River Corridor and helped draft a memo discussing land use opportunities in the Outer Harbor. He also served as the treasurer of the Buffalo Environmental Law Society and worked at a plaintiff’s personal injury litigation firm during law school. Rob has dedicated many hours working towards improving Buffalo by planting trees with Re-Tree WNY, completing cleanups with the Buffalo Niagara Riverkeeper, organizing summer concerts as a member of the Elmwood Village Association and working with PUSH Buffalo. Rob has been steadfast in his vision and passion for helping others and taking pride in his neighborhood.
